Special Educational Needs

Here at Manor Community Childcare Centre we are inclusive and welcome all children into our nursery.

Gail is our special needs co-ordinator and is around to offer support and advice to parents concerned about any issues around their child’s individual needs or development.

Gail is often found within the nursery rooms giving individual or group support to children.  She works closely with your child’s key worker to maintain a high standard of support, implementing individual educational learning programmes to meet each child’s learning potential.

Gail will support you and your child through transition to school and will arrange assessments and/or referral to relevant professionals such as Speech Therapists, Educational Psychologists etc.

We will arrange review meetings for staff, parents and relevant professionals to meet on a regular basis so that all concerned are able to give the best possible care and education to the child.

Over the last year we have invited many different children into our nursery each with their own very special needs. We have supported them all to enable each child to grow and develop ready for transition to school.

Gail has made good links with local schools, and some further afield, which creates a smoother transition period, as this is a difficult time for both the child and the parent.
